Hip Hop Queen Mahogany Jones Set to Release New EP “Floating”

by | Nov 24, 2020 | Musicians

One of Detroit’s best female emcees is back with a bang. This Friday, November 27, Mahogany Jones will release her new 6-track EP titled “Floating”, which blends introspective and motivational lyrics that take you on a journey of self-identity and empowerment. In a climate where tensions run high from hostile politics and racial injustice, Jones’s album delivers an impactful soundtrack of positive vibes that is right on time.

Album singles “Black Girl Magic” and “Melanin”  pair together to promote a message of unity, self-love, and confidence, while the rest of the album flawlessly highlights Jones’s ability to flow over intimate R&B tracks and hardcore Hip-Hop beats alike. The overall project is a testament to why she is an icon of the underground and battle rap culture.

Featured artists on the album include Dannie Baylor (“Floating” ), J-Hyde (“Regrets” ), Dre Marshall, and Leon Timbo (“Elle” ), with the project being executively produced by Jones and her husband Dre Marshall.

The EP’s global release will be powered by The Thirties on Black Friday and distributed through EQ Distribution.
