The Creative Armory’s 2020 Year in Review

by | Jan 7, 2021 | Inspiration

2020 was without a doubt a year like no other. In the face of rough times and new challenges, I am grateful for the continued growth and support of the blog. Below are a few of my favorite moments from The Creative Armory’s 2020 year in review.

1. Increased Email Subscribers

Going into 2020, a goal of The Creative Armory was to utilize newsletters more than in previous years. They were a great way to engage with community members and provide creative tips and updates. By the end of the year, it was great to see the email list had doubled in comparison to 2019.

2. Launched an Online Shop

The debut of my “Stand in Your Power” tees in 2019 inspired me to design more unique products and launch creativearmory.shop in June 2020. The shop is where you will find unisex apparel and custom accessories that even a non-designer would love.

3. Ran My First Instagram Takeover

I also got the chance in June of 2020 to partner with my friend and blogger Jennifer Hamra of Good Life Detroit to host my very first Instagram Takeover! It was fun to watch her introduce the community to a few of her favorite murals around the city. To check out the post click here.

4. Became a Community Sponsor

I was selected to be one of thirty speakers at the inaugural Black Designers Ignite event in August of 2020, thus giving The Creative Armory a chance to become a community sponsor for the event.

5. Introduced Myself

Although I’ve been blogging for a couple of years and consider myself an introvert, 2020 was the year that I stopped hiding behind the scenes and started inserting more of myself into my content. This included having multiple conversations on Instagram Live and showing up as a person rather than just a company.

Thank you all for making 2020 an amazing year.  I hope your 2021 is filled with amazing opportunities and success!
